Use excerpts for your blog post summaries

There may be times when you will want to use excerpts for your blog post summaries (the intros) and even have the option to create custom excerpts instead of having WordPress grab a portion of your post. This tutorial will show you how to enable excerpts for your blog.

1. Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Blog Options
2. Look for the “Content or Excerpt” setting and make your choice
   
3. Click “Save & Publish“
