As many users of Seasonal will discover, this theme uses a slightly different menu type that most are commonly used to. This theme uses a “Toggle Menu” instead of the standard hover type with a drop down or flyout submenu.

An Introduction to Seasonal
Seasonal was designed for the blogging purist who wants to simply blog. With a little old school style and a little modern design, Seasonal gives you a lot more than a typical blogging theme. I used the default WordPress theme as a guideline and simply developed the theme that you see.

There may be some situations where you do not want your sidebar to always have its content vertically aligned in the middle, but rather float it up to the top. Now with Seasonal version 1.0.9, you can now do this.

Typography management in Seasonal
This is probably one of the most complex things for any website, regardless of the theme you use because within your site pages, there are many typography elements happening. When you consider that there are literally 1000’s of font styles available, you cannot possible include them all into a theme. Each person has their own preference as to the font and styling they like, so this also creates a challenge in theme development. Consider the following:

Choose your blog summary alignment
By default, the theme is set to left alignment so that when you visit your blog’s home page, the content alignment will be left aligned. However, you may notice that the live demo shows the blog home page as centered.

Now that you have an introduction to the sidebar background feature for Seasonal, it’s time to begin making a custom change. I will section off each option for you, but to show you what the default setting looks like

Seasonal gives you a sidebar that is customizable with the following options:
Setup a logo or Site Title for your website
Seasonal starts you off with the Site Title and Tagline, but you have a Several options:
- Site Title & Tagline - Text based title and site description
- Site Title - You can hide the tagline and just go with a title
- Logo - You can opt in for just a logo
- Logo with Title & tagline - You can have a logo above your Site Title & Tagline
- Logo with Tagline - You can have a logo with the Tagline, but no Site Title
By default, the first option is set for the Site Title and Tagline, but everyone will have their preferences. I will start with adding a Logo to your sidebar.
