We will be creating three image boxes like this:
Setup Influential Lite
Welcome to the setup tutorials for the free WordPress theme named Influential Lite. Please note that any support you may need while setting up this theme is available to you by going to the theme’s download page at wordpress.org and click on the “View Support Forum” button.
Landing Page - Introduction
Influential Lite has one landing page template that you can use. However, I should note that Influential Lite uses the same landing page template that the premium version offers, but it has only half of the sections Influential has. You can see this template in action by visiting the live demo site:
Add WooCommerce to your site
I won’t go into a big tutorial on how to install and setup WooCommerce, as I will leave that to you to reference their own documentation. This tutorial is setup to show how to enable this theme’s WooCommerce styles and other elements like sidebars. I will also assume that you have WooCommerce already installed and setup before you begin theme customization.
Typography Font Management
One of the most complicated things when creating a website, is typography management (font management) because of the vast array of font attributes involved
Customize your page background
The “Background” setting you see in your Appearance menu group when in the admin area is really a WordPress feature than it is for the theme. However, Influential Lite does give you the option to customize your page background with a solid colour or an image.
Customize your colours
With Influential Lite, as it is with all my themes, you can customize your colours for most if not all elements that have colour. This is done by going to the Customizer and using the built-in colour selectors to make your changes while previewing it in the right window pane of the customizer.
Show or hide various page or post elements
As it is common for most of our themes, you can show or hide various post and page elements such as:
Use excerpts for your blog post summaries
The blog post summaries are the “intros” that you see when you first go to a blog. This is normally recognized when you see each summary with a title, perhaps a featured image, and then the “Read More” button or link. Post summaries are only part of a full post and will only show on the blog’s home page.
Choose your blog style
Changing your blog style is not just for layout, but also for what style of featured image you want.
Create your social icon menu
Many themes offer some form of social networking capabilities, from comprehensive to basic links to profile pages. This theme gives you a social menu location within the top header area. Setting up your social menu items is just like the other menus, excerpt you are using the “ Custom Links ” option for each social network.
